The Maratha – are Indian people found predominantly in the state of Maharashtra and are famous for their warriors, found predominantly in the state of Maharashtra.
Harshitaa Chatterjee Deshpande’s collection is inspired by the Maratha warrior princess. The concept for the collection is to revisit and celebrate the rich heritage of the traditions of woven art.
Varnanggall – ‘Colours’ in Tamil. Lavanyaa K R is the name behind this South Indian traditional wear label. She works with the unsung rural heroes of Kalamkari, Lambani, Ilkal and the weavers from most part of Southern India – Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, making the products unique and hand made. Looking through the collection, you will notice the devotion to the art and pure love for the craft.
I would like to have all the above in my closet, and I WILL find an occasion to wear them to. This is Karishma Shahani’s Spring Summer 2014 collection. The Kaam Kaaj collection shows a unique form of block printing technique known as the Ajrak. The Ajrak technique uses natural dyes, which Karishma Shahani shows throughout the collection.
One of my favourite menswear label – Dent de Man! I have mentioned them some time back. The Spring/Summer 2014 collection, is packed with prints and patterns, guaranteed to give the wearer individuality and a presence made known. You will be oozing all kinds of self confidence if you step out in one of these, and the paparazzi will follow suit.
Her muse is an intelligent, non-conformist woman. Payal Khandwala‘s clothing is about relaxed timeless style, a spirited attitude and a relentless need to express one’s own individuality.
